The University of Waterloo’s 2018 President’s Town Hall brought hundreds of students, faculty and staff together both in person and over a live stream in conversation with President Feridun Hamdullahpur, who discussed the successes and milestones of the past year as well as the University’s priorities for the year ahead. President Hamdullahpur also spoke about progress made against the 2013-2018 Strategic Plan goals and the themes that were emerging during the consultation phase of the 2020-2025 Strategic Plan. During the robust Q&A session, the discussion included the government-mandated freedom of speech policy, encouraging interdisciplinary activities on campus, training for TAs in the area of grading papers, responsible investment, and granting representation to sessional instructors.
