Presenter bios
Karen Parkinson - Occupational Health
Karen Parkinson, Registered Nurse and Canadian Certified Occupational Health Nurse since 2004. Karen has worked for Waterloo for 3.5 years and prior to that worked at Grand River Hospital in Occupational Health. She also worked in the Insurance Industry with Long Term Disability claimants, assisting with rehab & return to work planning.
Linda Brogden - Occupational Health
Linda has held various positions during her career as a Registered Nurse. Linda worked in Health Services with students and in 2001 she transitioned into the role of Occupational Health Nurse and began working with employees. In this role, she encounters employees on a daily basis who are affected by psychological health issues. Linda has recently become a Mindful Manager and is committed to using the practical strategies offered to promote a mentally healthy workplace, develop mindful managers, support success at work, eliminate stigma around seeking help, and increase mental health awareness.
