Health Evaluation Collaborative

The Health Evaluation Collaborative (HEC) was founded by the School of Public Health and Health Systems (SPHHS) and the Propel Centre for Population Health Impact (Propel), both at the University of Waterloo. We aspire to multi-sector partnerships, including organizations who share a similar vision and mission.

Vision: Evaluative thinking and evaluation are integral to public health and health systems.1

Mission: Improve public health and health systems through vibrant academic and practice partnerships that conduct relevant and high quality evaluations and build capacity for evaluation and evaluative thinking.

Read about our key initiatives.

Public health is the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life, promoting health and integrating health care policies and services. Health systems are the organized efforts and informed choices of society, organizations (public, non-profit and private), communities and citizens to improve the health of individuals and populations.
