New leadership coming to national student survey

Dr. Martin CookeWe are pleased to announce that Dr. Martin Cooke will assume leadership of the Canadian Student Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs Survey (CSTADS) as of July 1, 2017. Dr. Cooke is a demographer, with faculty appointments in Sociology & Legal Studies and the School of Public Health and Health Systems at University of Waterloo. He is Co-Director of the Survey Research Centre at UW.

Dr. Cooke has worked with the Propel CSTADS team over the past year to become more familiar with the role and contribute his expertise. He looks forward to forging stronger connections with the CSTADS team in Waterloo and beyond. Dr. Cooke recognizes the strengths already exhibited by the team across Canada, and intends to build on those strengths so that CSTADS remains a key tool for reducing inequities in the health of Canadians.

Steve Manske, current CSTADS lead, will retire from CSTADS at the end of July.
