Tobacco control

According to recent estimates, more than 1.3 billion people worldwide smoke tobacco. Of these, one-third to one-half will die of a smoking-related disease, an amount greater than the entire population of North America.

For more than two decades, these sobering statistics have driven Propel to partner closely with recognized policy, practice and research leaders to reduce the incidence of tobacco-related disease by helping smokers quit and preventing people from starting in the first place.

Propel’s work in tobacco control includes tobacco policy, smoking cessation and surveillance and monitoring.

It may be surprising to some people, but tobacco use is now and into the foreseeable future, the single most destructive agent of death and disease in the world.
