Tobacco policy

Tobacco control policy is one of the primary areas of emphasis in Propel’s tobacco control program area. Tobacco control policies help smokers quit, help change populations’ attitudes about tobacco, and protect non-smokers.

Our experience in tobacco control policy includes involvement and influence in key policy initiatives, evaluation and advocacy. For example, results from the Canadian Student Tobacco, Alcohol, and Drugs Survey (CSTADS) on flavoured tobacco use among youth has played an influential part in federal and provincial bans of flavoured tobacco.

Projects include smoke-free outdoor spaces, and smoke-free multi-unit dwellings (MUDs).
