The founding of the World Health Organization (WHO) is celebrated each year with a global call to action in a priority area in public health. This year the topic is "beat diabetes." At Waterloo WHO Day, students participate in group activities and workshops that immerse them in an important global health priority, and help them discover the wide range of health career opportunities.
Who can participate: Grade 10 and 11 high school students in Waterloo Region with interests in health, social sciences, social justice, and community development; including students in the Health and Wellness Specialist High Skills Major. Students typically attend this event as a class.
This free event runs from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. one weekday in November (date to be announced).
