“Projective modules”

If R is a ring, we can define an abelian group K0(R) by using projective modules. This presentation will be a *very* gentle introduction to projective modules — definition, examples, and some properties. Free modules are projective, and we will investigate some rings for which the reverse is true. We will also review commutative localization.
