“Effective bounds of finite solution sets of PDPE’s”

In this talk we will consider the following problem: Suppose we have a system p1(x) = ... = pr(x) = 0 of differential (polynomial) equations with parameters which has only finitely many solutions. Can we give an upper bound for the number solutions in terms of the degrees of the pi’s and independent of the parameters? We answer this question affirmatively using an algorithm to compute degrees of the Zariski closure of the solution set.
