"An Introduction + Connexion to Algebraic Geometry"

In this talk we will summarize the foundations of Gröbner bases. We review the underlying theory, the concepts, the definitions, the algorithms and the main theorems. We also present the strong connection between Gröbner bases, syzygies, and algebraic geometry through some examples and by exposing some interesting connection with dimension theory via Hilbert polynomials. Finally, we will give additional motivations in regards to the local structure of intersections.
