“A functional analytic perspective on Poulsen’s simplex”

The Poulsen simplex is the unique metrizable Choquet simplex with dense extreme bound- ary. I will explain how the original proof of uniqueness due to Lindenstrauss, Olsen, and Sternfeld, is purely functional analytic. I will then mention how one can use this perspec- tive to prove existence and uniqueness of the natural noncommutative analog of the Poulsen simplex.
