“Positive Operator-Valued Measures from the Perspective of Measure Theory”

Measure theory and integration are, of course, intimately linked, but this less true for operator-valued measures and functions. In this lecture I will consider matrix-valued functions, measures, and integrals and explain how some of familiar results from measure theory (such as Jensen’s inequality) arise in this setting. I will also describe how operator systems play a role in charactersing measures that exhibit certain extremal properties.
