“The Stokes groupoids”

In joint work with Marco Gualtieri and Songhao Li, we construct Lie groupoids that serve as the universal domains for the parallel transport of meromorphic connections over Riemann surfaces. Such connections are models for singular ordinary differential equations and arise in several areas of geometry, such as Hodge theory, wall crossing and the geometric Langlands program. I will describe our construction and explain how it can be used to illuminate various aspects of the classical theory of singular ODEs.
