“Variations on a Theme of Hodge, Variation II: Medley”

Soon, the orchestra will burst into lively chorus, into a song of technical and geometrical beauty, into a synthesis of all bars and measures encountered thus far. To fully appreciate this grand act, however, we must rest a bit and grasp a tad more theory. Indeed, neglect not the flat connection! For an understanding of their origins and properties allows differentiation of periods. Forget not the harmony of Hodge and the Laplacian! For their combination gives constancy to numbers otherwise perturbed. Finally, watch carefully the flag! For the flag as a whole, and not the parts themselves, is that which waves smoothly amid complexity.
