SUMMARY:Algebraic Geometry Learning Seminar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:FARIDA SHAHATA\, DEPARTMENT OF PURE MATHEMATICS\, UNIVERSITY OF
  WATERLOO\n\n\"More projective geometry\"\n\nProjective schemes make a com
eback! Following our previous discussion\non closed immersions and closed
subschemes\, the next natural step is\nto study closed embeddings of proje
ctive schemes. \n\nAs for affine schemes\, we will see that a surjection
of graded rings\ninduces a closed embedding of projective schemes. Convers
ely\, every\nclosed subscheme of a projective scheme arises from a graded
 ideal\,\nhence\, is projective itself.
