SUMMARY:Computability Learning Seminar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:MOHAMMAD MAHMOUD\, DEPARTMENT OF PURE MATHEMATICS\, UNIVERSITY
 OF\nWATERLOO\n\n\"Degree invariant functions and Martin's Conjectures\"\n\
nWe will go through a theorem which proves a special case of one of\nMarti
n's conjectures about degree (Turing) invariant functions. The\ntheorem sa
ys: Assuming the Axiom of Determinacy\, a uniformly degree\ninvariant func
tion that is not increasing on a cone must be constant\non a cone. The the
orem is about a uniformly degree invariant function\nwhile the conjecture
is about any degree invariant function\, not\nnecessarily uniformly.
