 field\, there are two\nnatural $\\mathbb{Z}_p$-extensions\, the cyclotomi
 c and the\nanticyclotomic. We'll start with a brief description of Iwasawa
  theory\nfor the cyclotomic extensions\, and then describe some computatio
 ns for\nanticyclotomic  $\\mathbb{Z}_p$ extensions\, especially the fiel
 ds and\ntheir class numbers. This is joint work with LC Washington.\n\nThi
