SUMMARY:Logic Seminar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:CHRISTINE EAGLES\, DEPARTMENT OF PURE MATHEMATICS\, UNIVERSITY
OF\nWATERLOO\n\n\"DOMINATION EQUIVALENCE AND FIBERS\"\n\nIn stable theorie
s we may understand types of finite rank in terms of\na finite collection
of minimal types. One such method is a domination\ndecomposition. This tal
k will serve as an exposition on domination in\nstable theories\, particul
arly in how it relates to images of a type\nunder a function. In particula
r\, we show that when the fibers of a map\nf from a type p to another type
are almost internal to a minimal type\nr\, then we have that p is dominat
ion equivalent to a Morley product of\nthe image of f and some copies of r
 . This is joint work with Léo\nJimenez. \n\nMC 5479
