 -dimensional arrays. Tensor decomposition also\nhas a lot of applications 
 in data analysis\, physics\, and other areas\nof science. I will survey my
  recent two results about matrix\nmultiplication complexity and classifica
 tion of special tensors. The\nfirst result computes the border rank of 3 X
  3 permanent\, which is\nimportant in the theory of matrix multiplication 
 complexity. The\nsecond result classifies linear spaces of matrices of bou
 nded rank 4\,\nmaking progress on an old problem that has been open for de
 cades in\nlinear algebra society. I will also briefly discuss how the role
  of\ncommutative algebra\, algebraic geometry\, and representation theory\
