SUMMARY:Number Theory Seminar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:KUNJAKANAN NATH\, UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS\, URBANA-CHAMPAIGN\n\n
\"CIRCLE METHOD AND BINARY CORRELATION PROBLEMS\"\n\nOne of the key proble
ms in number theory is to understand the\ncorrelation between two arithmet
ic functions. In general\, it is an\nextremely difficult question and ofte
n leads to famous open problems\nlike the Twin Prime Conjecture\, the Gold
bach Conjecture\, and the\nChowla Conjecture\, to name a few. In this talk
 \, we will discuss a few\nbinary correlation problems involving primes\, s
quare-free integers\,\nand integers with restricted digits. The objective
is to demonstrate\nthe application of Fourier analysis (aka the circle met
hod) in\nconjunction with the arithmetic structure of the given sequence a
nd\nthe bilinear form method to solve these problems.\n\nZoom\nlink: http
