SUMMARY:McMaster Waterloo Model Theory Seminar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:CHRIS SCHULZ\, DEPARTMENT OF PURE MATHEMATICS\, UNIVERSITY OF W
ATERLOO\n\n\"AUTOMATIC STRUCTURE ON Z[F]-MODULES\"\n\nThe structure on the
integers induced by the base-k representation has\nbeen well-studied usin
g finite automata\, by Büchi and others. Less\nwell-explored are the exte
nsions of these results to underlying groups\nother than Z. We will discus
s a recent preprint of Francoise Point\, in\nwhich the author uses the F-s
ets defined by Moosa and Scanlon in order\nto generalize Büchi's work. Th
e end result is an expansion of a\nfinitely generated Z[F]-module that has
  IP but maintains decidability.\n\nMC 5479
