 nUNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO\n\n\"C* QUANTUM DYNAMICS\"\n\nA subfactor is a uni
 tal inclusion of simple von Neumann algebras\,\nwhich can be presented as 
 a non-commutative dynamical system governed\nby a tensor category. Popa es
 tablished that in ideal scenarios\,\ndynamical data is a strong invariant 
 for hyperfinite subfactors. These\nreconstruction results in a way give an
  equivariant version of Connes'\nclassification for amenable factors. On t
 he topological side\, after\nthe recent culmination of the classification 
 program for amenable\nC*-algebras\, whether there is an analogue of Popa's
  Reconstruction\nresults is not clear. In this talk\, I will describe the 
 transfer of\nsubfactor techniques to C*-algebras\, introducing the largest
  class of\ninclusions of C*-algebras admitting a quantum dynamical invaria
 nt akin\nto subfactors. Examples include the cores of Cuntz algebras\, cer
 tain\nsemicircular systems\, and crossed products by actions of tensor\nca
 tegories. Time allowing\, we will discuss some interactions with the\nC* c
 lassification program. This is based on joint work with Brent\nNelson.\n\n
