  formulation. This will lead to an\noutline of recent\, affirmative eviden
 ce for the conjecture. I will\nalso detail a systematic association of top
 ological quantum field\ntheories to Lie-theoretic data. Distinguished role
 s will be played by\nthe partial Grothendieck-Springer resolutions and the
