DESCRIPTION:DICLE MUTLU\, MCMASTER UNIVERSITY\n\nResidually Dominated Group
s\n\nA dominated type refers to a type that is controlled by its\nrestrict
ion to certain sorts in the language. The concept was first\nintroduced as
stable domination for algebraically closed valued fields\nby Haskell\, Hr
ushovski\, and Macpherson\, and was later extended to\nresidue field domin
ation in henselian fields of equicharacteristic\nzero in various studies.
In the algebraically closed case\, Hrushovski\nand Rideau-Kikuchi applied
stable domination in the group setting\,\nintroducing stably dominated gro
ups to study interpretable groups and\nfields in the theory. In this talk\
, we extend the notion of stably\ndominated groups to residually dominated
groups in henselian fields of\nequicharacteristic zero\, discussing how\,
in this setting\, domination\ncan be witnessed by a group homomorphism. T
his is joint work with Paul\nZ. Wang.\n\nMC 5479
