SUMMARY:Analysis Seminar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:ADINA GOLDBERG\, UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO\n\nSynchronous Quantum
Games\n\nWe recast nonlocal games using string diagrams\, allowing for a n
atural\nextension to quantum games (with bipartite question and answer\nst
ates). We define strategies in this setting and show that\nsynchronous qua
ntum games require synchronized players to win. We give\nexamples of some
quantum games on quantum graphs and see that these\nrequire quantum homo/i
somorphisms to win. (The talk is based on a\npreprint ``Quantum games and
 synchronicity''\n(https://arxiv.org/abs/2408.15444). This work is inspired
by Musto\,\nReutter\, and Verdon's paper ``A compositional approach to qu
antum\nfunctions''\, and relies heavily on the reference ``Categories for\
nQuantum Theory'' by Heunen and Vicary for string diagrams in quantum\ninf
 ormation.)\n\nMC 5417
