SUMMARY:Number Theory Seminar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:KUNJAKANAN NATH\, IECL NANCY\, FRANCE\n\n_Circle method and bi
nary correlation problems_\n\nOne of the key problems in number theory is
to understand the\ncorrelation between two arithmetic functions. In genera
l\, it is an\nextremely difficult question and often leads to famous open
problems\nlike the Twin Prime Conjecture\, the Goldbach Conjecture\, and t
he\nChowla Conjecture\, to name a few. In this talk\, we will discuss a fe
 w\nbinary correlation problems involving primes\, square-free integers\,\n
and integers with restricted digits. The objective is to demonstrate\nthe
application of Fourier analysis (aka the circle method) in\nconjunction wi
th the arithmetic structure of the given sequence and\nthe bilinear form m
ethod to solve these problems.\n\nZoom: https://uwaterloo.zoom.us/j/94276
