  primality for reduced crossed products\n\nIn this talk I will discuss ide
 al structure of reduced crossed\nproducts by actions of discrete groups on
  noncommutative C*-algebras.\nI will report on joint work with M. Kennedy 
 and L. Kroell\, in which we\ngive a characterization of primality for redu
 ced crossed products by\narbitrary actions. For a class of groups containi
 ng finitely generated\ngroups of polynomial growth\, we show that the idea
 l intersection\nproperty together with primality of the action is equivale
 nt to\nprimality of the crossed product. This extends previous results of\
 nGeffen and Ursu and of Echterhoff in the setting of minimal actions.\n\nM
