SUMMARY:Analysis Seminar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:ASTRID AN HUEF\, VICTORIA UNIVERSITY OF WELLINGTON \n\nNuclear
 dimension of C*-algebras of groupoids.\n\nLet G be a locally compact\, Hau
sdorff groupoid.  Guentner\, Willet and\nYu defined a notion of dynamic a
symptotic dimension (dad) for etale\ngroupoids\, and used it to find  a b
ound on the nuclear dimension of\nC*-algebras of principal groupoids with
finite dad.  To have finite\ndad\, a groupoid must have locally finite is
otropy subgroups which\nrules out\, for example\, the graph groupoids and
twists of etale\ngroupoids by trivial circle bundles. I will discuss how t
he techniques\nof Guentner\, Willett and Yu can be adjusted to include som
 e groupoids\nwith large isotropy subgroups\, including an applications to\
nC*-algebras of directed graphs that are AF-embeddable. This is joint\nwor
k with Dana Williams. \n\nMC 5417 \n\nOr join on Zoom with the link below
