DESCRIPTION:DROR VAROLIN\, STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY\n\nExtending sections of 
 Holomorphic Vector Bundles\n\nIn 1987 Ohsawa and Takegoshi published their
  fundamental result on L2\nextension of holomorphic functions.  It did no
 t take long for this\nresult to be generalized to sections of holomorphic 
 line bundles\, and\na spectacular array of applications appeared in a numb
 er of areas of\ncomplex analytic and algebraic geometry.  By contrast\, t
 he L2\nExtension of sections of holomorphic vector bundles has been much l
 ess\nconsidered.  In particular\, until recently optimal positivity\ncond
 itions were not totally understood.  In this talk I will present\na resul
 t about L2 Extension in the higher rank case\, and also an\nexample showin
 g that this type of positivity is optimal.  I will also\ndiscuss the rele
 vance to a question about deformation of spaces of\nholomorphic sections.\
