SUMMARY:Student Number Theory Seminar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:SOURABH DAS\, UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO\n\nTools in Analytic Numbe
r Theory\n\nAnalytic number theory provides several classical tools to exp
lore the\ndistribution of arithmetic functions\, including the rearrangeme
nt of\nsums\, generating series\, and counting arguments. In this talk\, w
e will\nuse these techniques to investigate the distribution of h-free and
\nh-full numbers\, which play an important role in understanding the\nstru
cture of integers. If time allows\, we will extend our discussion\nto prov
e results about the distribution of the prime-counting\nω-function over t
hese subsets of integers. Designed as an\nintroductory talk\, this present
ation will be accessible to anyone with\na basic background in number theo
 ry.\n\nMC 5403
