SUMMARY:Geometry & Topology Seminar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:LUIS FERNANDEZ (CITY UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK)\n\nThe Dirac opera
tor in the Clifford bundle and Kaehler identities for\nalmost complex mani
folds\n\nWe use the Dirac operator in the Clifford bundle of an almost com
plex\nmanifold to obtain a different formulation of the Kaehler identities
\nwhich\, when viewed in the exterior bundle\, give the known\ngeneralizat
ion of these identities for complex manifolds found by\nDemailly\, thus ob
taining a generalization of the Kaeher identities for\nalmost complex mani
folds. This result was also proved by de la Ossa\,\nKarigiannis\, and Svan
es.\n\nIn the process we will define a number of operators in the Clifford
\nbundle\, together with relations between them\, that should give an\nalt
ernative way to study almost complex manifolds.\n\nAll the work presented
is joint with Sam Hosmer.\n\nMC 5417
