SUMMARY:Algebraic Geometry Working Seminar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:KALEB D RUSCITTI\, UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO \n\nModuli of Line Bu
ndles\n\nAs an example of a moduli problem that does not admit a fine modu
li\nspace\, I have been studying the moduli space of line bundles. This\na
dmits a coarse moduli space: the quotient stack [pt/T]\, where T is a\n(al
 gebraic) torus. \n\nAt first glance\, [pt/T] seems very arcane\, so I have
been learning how\none should understand this object. However it is an in
structive simple\ncase for motivating and working with moduli stacks. In t
his talk\, I\nhope to present some different interpretations of [pt/T]\, s
 o we can\nall be more comfortable with stacks.\n\nMC 5479
