 ce for minimal actions of compact groups on\nC*-algebras\n\nInclusions ari
 sing from compact quantum group actions on factors have\nbeen studied by I
 zumi-Longo-Popa and Tomatsu. For a minimal action of\na compact group on a
  factor\, there is an isomorphism from the lattice\nof closed subgroups on
 to that of intermediate subfactors between the\nfactor and the fixed point
  subfactor. The correspondence between\nintermediate subfactors and subgro
 ups is called a Galois\ncorrespondence. As a duality result\, a Galois cor
 respondence for\ndiscrete group actions is also known. Analogues for actio
 ns on\nC*-algebras were also studied by Izumi\, Cameron-Smith\, and others
 . In\nthis talk\, I will discuss a Galois correspondence for compact group
 \nactions on C*-algebras. A crucial result for our main theorem is the\npr
 oper outerness of finite index endomorphisms of purely infinite\nsimple C*
 -algebras. This was shown by Izumi recently. If time permits\,\nI will als
 o explain an extension of our main result to actions of\ncompact quantum g
 roups of Kac type and a relationship between our main\nresult and the C*-d
 iscrete inclusion introduced by Hernández\nPalomares and Nelson.\n\nMC 54
