SUMMARY:Special Analysis Seminar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:LARISSA KROELL\, UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO\n\nPartial C*-Dynamical
Systems: Injective Envelopes and the Ideal\nIntersection Property\n\nPart
ial C*-dynamical systems are a generalization of ordinary\nC*-dynamical sy
stems and were first introduced by Ruy Exel (1994) to\nexpress certain C*-
algebras as crossed products by a single partial\nautomorphism. In this ta
lk\, we will show the existence of an\nequivariant injective envelope for
partial C*-dynamical systems — a\nconcept which has been a driving force
in many recent results\nregarding the ideal structure of ordinary C*-dyna
mical systems. We\nwill motivate our construction by highlighting its conn
ection to\nordinary C*-dynamical systems via enveloping actions. Furthermo
re\, we\nprovide a characterization of the ideal intersection property for
\npartial C*-dynamical systems as an application of equivariant\ninjective
envelopes in this setting. This is based on joint work with\nMatthew Kenn
edy and Camila Sehnem.\n\nThis seminar is held jointly with the Canadian O
 perator Symposium.\n\nM3 1006
