SUMMARY:Geometry and Topology Seminar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:JIAHAO HU\, YAU MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES CENTER\, TSINGHUA UNIVERS
ITY\n\n_Homotopy theoretical holomorphic invariants of complex manifolds_\
n\nIn this talk\, I will begin by presenting a method for extracting new\n
holomorphic invariants of a complex manifold from its de Rham\nalgebra o
f complex-valued differential forms. These invariants can be\nseen as refi
ned versions of the complexified homotopy groups. I will\nthen explore the
ir potential connections with Hermitian geometry.\nSpecifically: (1) the n
on-abelian part (refined fundamental group)\nshould be related to a genera
lization of Higgs bundle\; (2) the abelian\npart (refined higher homotopy)
may provide new tools for studying the\ngeometry of holomorphic mappings.
