SUMMARY:Analysis Seminar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:JUNICHIRO MATSUDA\, DEPARTMENT OF PURE MATHEMATICS\, UNIVERSITY
OF\nWATERLOO \n\n_Quantum graphs violate the classical characterization o
 f the\nexistence of d-regular graphs. _\n\nQuantum graphs are a non-commut
ative analogue of classical graphs that\nreplace the function algebra on v
ertices with C*-algebras. It is known\nthat classical simple _d_-regular g
raphs on _n _points exist if and\nonly if _dn_ is even. This is false fo
r quantum graphs in both\ndirections. We provide a necessary condition on
the number of quantum\nedges between quantum vertices (matrix summands) to
make it a\n_d_-regular quantum graph. Using this technique\, we also desc
ribe\n_1_-regular or _2_-regular quantum graphs on general tracial quantum
\nsets. _1_-regular quantum graphs have quantum edges only between\nsumman
ds of the same size. Centrally connected $2$-regular quantum\ngraphs are c
lassified into 8 families by their central skeleton. This\nis a joint work
  with Matthew Kennedy and Larissa Kroell.\n\nHybrid - QNC\n1507\, https:/
