SUMMARY:Pure Math Colloquium
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:MATEUSZ WASILEWSKI\, POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES\n\n_Quantum gra
phs and their symmetries_\n\nI will present an overview of the theory of q
uantum graphs\, which form\na natural generalization of graphs from the po
int of view of operator\nalgebras/quantum information. I will discuss seve
ral approaches to the\ntheory\, each coming with its own motivation. Just
like in the\nclassical case\, studying symmetries is extremely important a
nd this\nnaturally leads to quantum groups. It turns out that to some exte
nt\none can go back: for a rich class of quantum groups one can construct\
nquantum graphs\, whose symmetries are given by the original quantum\ngrou
 p. It is the quantum analogue of Frucht's theorem.\n\nMC 5501
