 lgebras of Discrete Abelian Groups_\n\nWe will discuss a variant of the gr
 oup algebra\, called the Beurling\nalgebra. These algebras differ from the
 ir classical counterpart\nthrough the addition of a weight function modify
 ing the norm. The\nGelfand spectrum of the group algebra of absolutely int
 egrable\nfunctions on an abelian group\, G\, is well known to be the Pontr
 yagin\ndual of G. In the case of a Beurling algebra\, the Gelfand spectrum
  can\nbe much larger for suitable weights. We will focus on the Beurling\n
 algebra of a discrete abelian group\, G\, and give a description of its\nG
 elfand spectrum in terms of a seminorm constructed from a symmetric\nweigh
