 ffine spaces. The generalized Serre question on algebraic\nvector bundles 
 asks whether algebraic vector bundles over\ntopologically contractible smo
 oth affine complex varieties are always\ntrivial. In this talk\, we survey
  classical results and highlight the\nmost recent developments on this pro
