 r differential\nequations\, introduced by Painlevé in his search for new\
 ntranscendental functions\, and explain its relationship with strong\nmini
 mality. We will then introduce the Lotka–Volterra system and try\nto sho
 w that\, under certain conditions on the parameters\, its degree\nof non-m
 inimality is zero\; by convention\, this means that its generic\ntype is m
 inimal. Finally\, we will show that the resulting strongly\nminimal set ha
