 ecture: that for a smooth projective manifold\, every (1\,1)\ncohomology c
 lass is analytic. We will require some results from\nKähler geometry\, su
 ch as the Hodge-Dolbeault decomposition\, which\nwill be stated and their 
 proofs sketched. If time permits we will make\nfurther remarks about the g
 eneral Hodge conjecture.
