 manifolds. We\nwill introduce the basic notion of Hodge structure and see 
 its\nrelation with geometric objects such as abelian varieties and Riemann
 \nsurfaces. If time permits we will discuss variation of Hodge\nstructure\
 , which is an important tool in complex algebraic geometry.
