SUMMARY:Model Theory Seminar | Fateme Peimany | DCCM: the differential\nexp
 ansion of CCM
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:FATEME PEIMANY\, UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO\n\n_DCCM: the different
ial expansion of CCM_\n\nWe introduce the theory of compact complex spaces
called CCM and\nexpand it to DCCM\, the theory of differentially closed\
nCCM-structures. Finally\, we will explain the good model-theoretic\nprope
rties of DCCM and open problems in this theory.\n\nMC 5403

SUMMARY:Student Number Theory Seminar | Gian Cordana Sanjaya |\nMultiplicat
ively dependent integer vectors on a hyperplane
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:GIAN CORDANA SANJAYA\, UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO\n\n_Multiplicativ
 ely dependent integer vectors on a hyperplane_\n\nIn 2018\, Pappalardi\, S
ha\, Shparlinski\, and Stewart counted the number\nof multiplicatively dep
endent n-tuples of algebraic integers in a\nfixed number field\, ordered b
y pointwise Weil height. Extending this\nwork\, in a joint with with Afifu
rrahman and Iverson in 2026\, we count\nthe number of multiplicatively dep
 endent n-tuples of rational integers\nlying on a hyperplane\, ordered by m
aximum absolute value. In this\ntalk\, we will discuss about the multiplic
atively dependent tuples\,\nsome motivations behind them\, and how to coun
 t these tuples\, leading\nto the main results of both papers.\n\nMC 5479

SUMMARY:Algebraic Geometry Working Seminar | Boris Li | Filtered Deformatio
 ns\nof Trivariate Polynomial Rings
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:BORIS LI\, UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO\n\n_Filtered Deformations of
 Trivariate Polynomial Rings_\n\nAmong non-commutative rings\, those satisf
ying a polynomial identity\n(PI) are especially well-behaved. They share m
any properties with\ncommutative rings\, which we understand well. Etingof
asked whether\nevery filtered deformation of a finitely generated commuta
tive domain\,\nover an algebraically closed field of positive characterist
ic\, is PI.\nIn this talk\, we will answer this question of Etingof affirm
atively\nfor deformations of polynomial rings in three variables. In the\n
pre-seminar\, I will define and discuss the properties of filtered\ndeform
 ations\n\nMC 5403

CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:NOAH NAZARETH\, UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO\n\n_The jump of a struct
ure III_\n\nWe will continue our proof of the Ash-Knight-Manasse-Slaman an
d\nChisholm theorem. We will then define and discuss effective\nbi-interpr
