"Quantum Groups and Hopf Algebras"

In mathematics, the term quantum group denotes various kinds of noncommutative algebras with additional structure. In general, a quantum group is some kind of Hopf algebras. There is no single, all-encompassing definition, but instead a family of broadly similar objects. In the first half seminar, we may focus on the Lie Algebra of $SL(2)$, the quantum Enveloping Algebra of $SL(2)$ and Hopf Algebra Structures on $U_q(SL(2))$. In this talk, we will learn the quantum plane and algebra $M_q(2)$.
