"Model Theory of von Neumann Algebras II"
We will first finish our discussion of the non-locality of hyperfinite II1 factors, as an application of the Downward Löwenheim-Skolem Theorem. We will then discuss a new functional representation on sentences which will allow us to discuss Connes’ Embedding Problem and we will resolve a much weaker version of the problem. Lastly, we will begin exploring what happens in the setting of non-tracial von Neumann algebras, seeing that several different notions of ultraproduct exist.
