Qmax(R)continued”

Continuing our exposition of the maximal ring of right fractions. We have some goals: in nice cases (like when R is a domain, or a group ring), the ring Q = Qmax(RR) is self-injective, von Neumann regular, and sometimes simple. Also we’re aiming to characterize when Q is semisimple: this happens if and only if R is right nonsingular and udim(RR) < , which is close to the Goldie case.
