Born in Timmins in 1938, Moskal received a B.Sc. in mathematics and physics from the University of Toronto in 1961 and a PhD in mathematics from the University of Illinois−Urbana in 1966.
Vern Paulsen and Satish Pandey, a recent Pure Math retiree and a recent Pure Math PhD grad, have won the Australian Mathematical Society’s Mahony-Neumann-Room Prize! Announced December 6, 2022, the Prize is for their paper “A spectral characterization of AN operators”, which appeared in the Journal of the Australian Mathematical Society. Congratulations Vern and Satish!
