Tsen group - Quantum materials and devices lab

Welcome to the Tsen Group - Quantum Materials and Devices Lab at the Institute for Quantum Computing, University of Waterloo.

We employ a combination of experimental techniques for materials characterization at the nanoscale (transmission electron microscopy, micro-optical spectroscopy, magnetotransport measurements, etc.) as well as state-of-the-art nanofabrication processes for device engineering.

Our group aims to:

  1. uncover new physical phenomena in quantum materials with reduced dimensionality, and
  2. incorporate these materials in novel (opto)electronic devices for quantum information technology.

Our labs are located in the Research Advancement Centre (RAC) 1 building at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada.
