At the Rapid Prototyping Centre we can make real world parts out of almost any 3D computer aided design (CAD) drawing. In house we have 18 fused deposition modeling (FDM) printers and four stereolithography (SLA) printers that can create strong, durable and accurate parts for form-fit-function prototyping, visual demonstration or functional end-use.

FDM Technology: Makerbot Method X |
The Makerbot Method X is a state-of-the-art carbon-fiber cabable 3D printer that produces high quality parts out of a wide variety of thermoplastics. It allows you to print parts of high quality thermoplastics while still being compatible with water soluble supports, allowing for easy production of complex parts. It has a max build volume of 15.2cm x 19cm x 19.6cm, a resolution (layer thickness) range of 0.1mm - 0.33mm. with a tolerance of ±0.178mm. |
FDM Technology: Prusa i3 MK3S+ |
The Prusa i3 MK3S+ is capable of accurate, quality prints, using various thermoplastics. It has a max build volume of 25cm x 21cm x 21cm, and a layer height range of 0.05 - 0.35 mm. Prusa also has it's own print slicer, allowing for maximum (or minimum) customization of your print to ensure the density, detail, speed, and everything else is just how you want it. |
FDM Technology: Prusa MINI+ |
The Prusa MINI+ though smaller than the MK3S+ offers just as high quality prints. Capable of printing with multiple thermoplastics, a maximum build volume of 18cm x 18cm x 18cm, and a layer height range of 0.05 – 0.25 mm. Prusa also has it's own print slicer, allowing for maximum (or minimum) customization of your print to ensure the density, detail, speed, and everything else is just how you want it. |
SLA Technology: Elegoo Jupiter |
The Jupiter is a high quality printer that uses UV light to solidify photosensitive resin and create an extremely detailed part with an excellent surface finish. With layer heights of 0.1mm to 0.1mm your part is guaranteed to meet your exact specifications, with no layer lines, and a max build volume of 278 × 156 × 300 mm. |
SLA Technology: Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra |
The Saturn 3 Ultra is an extremely high quality printer, using a UV screen with double the resolution of the Jupiter. It prints in the same manner as the Jupiter, and prints in the same range of layer heights. It has a max build volume of 218.88 x 122.88 x 260 mm |
