The Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies at the University of Waterloo and Department of Tourism Management at Thompson Rivers University are excited to co-host the inaugural CTS North America conference. The conference will be held Monday, August 1 to Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Waterloo Summit Centre for the Environment in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada.

With regret, I’m announcing cancellation of the “Legacies of Flow” event scheduled for Wednesday July 15.

Dr. Csikszentmihalyi suffered a serious knee injury several days ago and has been prohibited from flying so will not be able to get here from California for Convocation next week.

We still hope to host him on campus during a future Convocation to receive his honorary degree. If/when that is scheduled we will reconsider resurrecting our planned panel discussion.

The Graduate Association for Recreation and Leisure Studies (GARLS) is pleased to announce the Twenty-fourth Annual Graduate Student Leisure Research Symposium to be held April 28, 2016 with keynote speaker Brett Lashua. We invite graduate students (and senior undergraduate student pursuing research) interested in any aspect of leisure, recreation, sport, and tourism research to make a presentation at the Symposium, and to take advantage of this unique opportunity for scholarly and professional growth.
